Big Brothers Big Sisters
In 2012, I became a Big Sister to a nine-year old girl named Adriana. Almost immediately, we forged a bond so deep that she might as well be my actual sister. She is 15 now, but we still see each other weekly. One of our favorite pastimes is visiting colleges and universities. Most recently, we explored Baylor University.
American Marketing Association
Since college, I have been involved with the American Marketing Association. In 2008, I became active with the San Antonio Chapter. Eventually, I became a Board member and served as President in 2017-2018.
United Way
Giving back to the community is important to me. In addition to donating personally, I have led the United Way fundraising campaigns at both San Antonio College and St. Mary's University. I am also a member of the Women’s Leadership Council.
CASE
As a longtime member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), I was invited to serve on the planning committee for the national 2017 Conference for Community College Advancement. I have also been a volunteer at the District level.
Reading Buddy
The San Antonio Youth Literacy organization promotes reading with the Reading Buddy Program. I went on-site to an elementary school once a week to tutor a second-grade student, and I helped foster her love for reading.
